Some Kind of Wonderful
Tue, 25 Jan

Joel's grandma spent 10 days with us and as the pictures below show the two really shared a special time:

wonderful.jpg

The journalling reads:
"You and your "mama" have had such a special relationship from the start. Is it because she was in the hospital room that you were born in? Or is it because of the times she spent with you in the middle of the night when mummy was too tired to put you back to sleep? I think I know what it is: it is the prayers that she has said for you, the vision she sees of the person that you will become, and the hope she carries of the difference you will one day make in your world. WOW. Do you see how wonderful it is to have someone like that in your life?"

As you can see I've moved on a little bit from stitching, and from the usual browns and neutrals! Gotta love those Chatterbox papers. Somehow I keep going back to them. They go so easily with everything.

AM, I really recommend the book from CK - A designer's eye for scrapbooking. i just got it yesterday. better than the faye morrow bell one. it will really help you think in terms of design concepts when you do your layouts. expensive but worth the $$!

B, did u print out the photos at home or at the shop? How did you get them in the odd size? Also, there's some stuff on the photos, u did them in photoshop before sending for printing?

AM: here's how i do the sizing, you should give it a try, it's not that difficult.

first crop your original picture to the width/height proportions you want. for this LO I wanted the pics to span half the width of the page, so that means 6" width. you can set this for the pic by going to Edit > Image Size in photoshop. make sure you enter 6 inches in the "print size" part of the menu. also, make sure your resolution is 300 dpi/inch. this will resize your image proportionally. however if you want to adjust the height, say make it 2 inches, then you go to Edit > Canvas Size and change the height to 2 inches. your printer should be able to print the photo out in the precise measurements.

also the watermark thing and the text on the photo i did in illustrator but you can also use photoshop. just type your text or put a shape (circle, rect etc) and change the transparency (opacity) to 50% or whatever you think looks good. you can download some photoshop brushes from www.spaceraven.net that can help you create some nice watermamark pattenrs without creating your own.

I don't know but I find printing quality on a home printer is not as good. Color tends to fade after a while. You printed on A4 photo paper?
